“I am now the Nothing of Tesla”, tweets Elon Musk
“I have deleted my Tesla titles last week to see what would happen”, says Elon Musk. An hour later, he tweets again, saying that he would take up the title of president to not confuse authorities.
Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer at Tesla, says that he has deleted his titles at Tesla. “I am now the Nothing of Tesla”, he says on Twitter. Musk has now deleted his title as CEO of Tesla and all other titles associated with the company.
Musk is the Chief Executive Officer at Tesla according to the investor web page of the company. The biography page, however, has no designation attached. Earlier, the company page had mentioned that Musk was the chairman, CEO and the product architect at Tesla. Names of two top executives have also been removed from the page.
Musk’s tweet on August 7, stating that he was taking Tesla private, had got him into trouble with the SEC. The SEC had filed a lawsuit against him, stating that he was misleading the public with false information. After the lawsuit, Musk had to pay a fine of $20 million, according to the settlement made with the SEC.
In addition to the fine, he has to withdraw from his position as the Chairman of Tesla for three years, before mid-November, as per the agreement made with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 29.
Musk’s behavior on a video interview, when he was smoking marijuana had displeased many viewers and investors had raised concerns about his attitude. Further, his tweets have been causing a lot of controversies continuously, raising concern over his tweets and leadership of the company.
However, Musk has answered critics with good third quarter results. Strong cash flow, better than expected net profits and margins is his answers to the Tesla investors.
